Home for my wife Melanie, and I is in Victor, Idaho. We are located approximately 30 minutes from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I met Melanie when I lived, and worked in Alaska as a Charter Captain/Professional Sport Fishing Guide. Eventually we moved to Idaho and Married. It was there with the support, and encouragement of my wife that I began my life long dream of becoming a Professional Horse Trainer/Clinician. My passion for horses started at a very early age, but was able to put it to more practical use about the time I turned twenty living in Fountain Hills, Arizona just outside of Scottsdale. Years later I found myself focusing on the outfitting business. As a Professional Guide in Wyoming I conducted horseback guided hunts, pack trips, and all day trail rides in the high mountain country. Eventually I wanted to take my knowledge to another level, and make a lifetime commitment in learning what I call "Complete Horsemanship." I put my heart, and soul in learning all I possibly could about horse training, from Colt starting to finish work. It was in 2006 when I met Josh Lyons. I along with many others believe he is one of the worlds most respected and professional Horse Trainers/Clinicians. In 2006 I completed the John & Josh Lyons Certified Trainers Program. It was Josh Lyons that gave me inspiration to further my equine education even more. In 2007 & 2008 I was given an opportunity by Josh to work with him as an instructor, teaching the Certified Trainers Program. An opportunity of a lifetime that I will forever be thankful for.
In addition in 2008 I completed the Josh Lyons Accreditation Program which is an intense program designed for performance riding and trainers that want to continue their education in the show world. I spend much of my summer in Idaho concentrating on clinics, demos, and individual training. Currently I also provide training, and I'm advertised as the Western Trainer at Teton Saddleback Vistas Arena in Driggs, Idaho. This is a five star facility which I'm very proud to be a part of. I will always consider myself a student of horsemanship, learning all I can, and passing that knowledge to those interested in reaching his/her personal goals.
Overall, I love what I do and feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with those trying to further their equine knowledge. There are few greater feelings in life for me then being a part of that bond between horse and rider. Building trust, respect, confidence through patience, and knowledge is just the start. The relationship that one can achieve between horse, and rider can truly be an amazing thing. How far you want to take it is up to you. |
